Project Description
May Hill in Longhope, just West of Gloucester can be clearly seen when travelling up the Severn valley. There’s a small distinctive clump of trees sitting at the top of the hill that stands out like a tall green caterpillar. According to Wikipedia, the clump of trees on the summit of the hill dates back to the later 18th century.
When I visited the area, I couldn’t believe how windy it was up on the hill- with the wind blowing the clouds across the sky and the trees bending to take the strain. I tried to capture this in the acrylic painting and used a wide canvas to capture the scene.
